Data and privacy

Who is responsible

Mysteryparceljolt Ltd is responsible for personal information it receives through correspondence about mysteryparceljolt.com. Our registered office is 32 Bridge Street, Galway, H91 R2F8, Ireland. Company no. 795312. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions or requests.

Using the website

Delivering a web page necessarily involves technical information such as an IP address, request time, requested resource and browser information. Hosting and network providers may process this information to deliver and secure the site. Our own page scripts do not include advertising trackers, analytics libraries, profiling or account registration.

Where technical information is processed for delivery and security, the purpose is to provide a functioning, secure information service. The relevant lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website, balanced against visitors’ rights. We do not use the enquiry tool for automated decisions about visitors.

The local enquiry worksheet

The worksheet processes what you type within your browser. It has no submission endpoint and does not send the contents to us. The tool does not save drafts to cookies or local storage. Your browser may separately offer autofill or form restoration according to your own settings.

Copying uses your device’s clipboard. Downloading creates a plain-text file on your device. Clipboard history, downloaded files and messages you later send are subject to your device, email provider and application settings. Clear or delete them where appropriate, especially on a shared device.

If you email us

We receive the sender’s email address, message contents, any attachments and associated correspondence metadata. We use this information to answer enquiries, review corrections, handle rights requests and maintain necessary records. Ordinary enquiries are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to communications. Processing required to comply with a legal duty relies on that legal obligation.

Do not send credentials, unnecessary personal data, sensitive personal information or site material you are not authorised to share. If we need additional information, we will ask for information proportionate to the issue.

Recipients and international transfers

Service providers supporting hosting, email and security may process information for those functions. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.

If processing involves a transfer outside the European Economic Area, applicable data-protection requirements must be met, including an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards where required. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to correspondence you have sent.

Retention and security

We retain correspondence only for as long as needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable recordkeeping or legal requirements. Relevant factors include whether an issue remains open, whether follow-up is likely and whether a legal obligation or dispute requires preservation. You may ask us to review the continued need to retain your correspondence.

We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information involved. No internet service or email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent is the basis for processing, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity.

You may complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission or your competent supervisory authority. Contacting us first does not limit that right.
